Winter 2024-25 Recap: Snow, Cold, and ReSalt’s Performance in Sample Tests
This past winter in Canada was a tale of extremes. While early predictions hinted at a milder season, reality had other plans. Some days were relatively dry, but when the snow arrived, it made its presence felt. Even the GTA saw its fair share of winter storms, with one significant event bringing three snowstorms in just eight days. The cleanup efforts took weeks, and cities like Toronto faced major challenges in keeping roads and sidewalks safe.
With such fluctuating conditions, it was the perfect season to put ReSalt to the test. Our sample trials were conducted in various real-world conditions, including fresh snowfall, ice buildup, and prolonged cold snaps.
How ReSalt Performed
🔹 Effectiveness: ReSalt continued to show strong deicing capabilities. In our controlled tests, treated areas remained clear for extended periods compared to untreated zones. The product successfully prevented snow and ice accumulation, even during heavy snowfall.
🔹 Environmental Impact: Our commitment to sustainability was reinforced with every test. ReSalt, made from eco-friendly ingredients like beetroot powder, coconut coir, and molasses, proved to be a viable alternative to traditional road salt. Unlike traditional methods, it didn’t leave corrosive residues or cause damage to surrounding vegetation.
🔹 Surface Safety: Testing was conducted on asphalt, concrete, and wooden surfaces. ReSalt consistently performed well without causing damage or staining, an issue commonly associated with conventional salts.
Looking Ahead
With winter behind us, we’re now focusing on refining our formulation and preparing for large-scale trials. The challenges faced by cities like Toronto this year highlight the need for better, more sustainable solutions—something we at ReSalt are determined to provide.
We also recognize that eco-friendly alternatives often come with a higher price tag. That’s why we’re actively working on optimizing our formula to balance sustainability with affordability, ensuring that greener winter solutions are within reach for everyone.
Stay tuned as we continue to innovate and make winter maintenance safer, greener, and more cost-effective!
