What Homeowners Really Think: Early Feedback From ReSalt Testers

As part of our product development journey, this past winter we distributed samples of ReSalt to a small group of homeowners and property managers to understand how our eco-friendly deicer performs in real-life conditions. While we’re still refining the formulation, the feedback we’ve received has been both encouraging and incredibly insightful.

Here’s what some of our testers had to say about their experience with ReSalt:

“I used it on our wooden porch steps and was surprised there was no residue or discoloration. That’s never the case with regular salt.”
Homeowner, Burlington, ON

“What I liked the most was that I didn’t feel guilty using it near my garden beds. I’ve lost plants to salt damage in the past.”
Homeowner, Mississauga, ON

“It worked better than I expected. We had a lot of snow over two weekends, and the area I treated stayed clear much longer than the untreated walkway.”
Townhouse resident, Scarborough, ON

“My dog has sensitive paws, and I noticed he stopped avoiding the treated area. That alone is a big win for us.”
Pet owner, Etobicoke, ON

“We tried it on a small section of our driveway, and even after heavy snow, it melted faster and stayed dry longer than the other areas. Can’t wait to see the final version.”
Homeowner, Oakville, ON

Why This Feedback Matters

These early observations support what our lab and field tests have already shown: that eco-friendly ingredients like beetroot powder, coconut coir, and molasses can offer strong, surface-safe, and environmentally conscious snow management.

While we’re still testing and optimizing to balance performance and cost, this winter has confirmed that we’re on the right path. Our goal is to make ReSalt not just effective, but affordable and accessible too.

More updates to come as we gear up for our next phase of development and wider testing. If you’re interested in being part of our upcoming pilot program, stay tuned!
